Keeping in view the growing market of SUVs, Skoda is launching its ambitious Skoda Kushaq in India in July. The SUV is available in Nepal and is expected to take the Skoda market one step further. Under Project 2.0, the Volkswagen Group has invested 1 billion Euros in India. This is the first time the group has spent this amount of sum on the same market. Recently, the first unit of Skoda Kushaq produced from the Chakan plant in Pune has been rolled out. It is based on the MQB-AO-IN platform where IN stands for India.
Accordingly, 95 percent of the parts in the Skoda Kushaq have been localized, which will make the price and after-sales service of the Skoda Kushaq economical. As the new platform has been developed and localized for the Indian market, its price will be competitive.
The Skoda Kushaq features a touchscreen infotainment system (up to 10 inches), connected car technology with over-the-air updates compatible with AndroidAuto and AppleCarPlay, a wireless phone charger, a climate-controlled single-window sunroof, push-button start ambient light, and cruise control. Safety is handled by six airbags, ABS with EBD, hill hold control, multi-collision brakes with tire pressure monitoring, parking sensors, and a rearview camera. Body Stance Control is a standard feature across all the trims.
Skoda offers Kushaq with two different engines, both turbo-petrol: a 1.0 litre engine that genereates 115PS of power and 175Nm of torque, the other one is a 1.5- litre unit that najes 150PS and gives 250NM of torque. As for the transmission system, Skoda offers a 6-speed manual as standard with the option for a 6-speed torque converter (for the 1-litre engine) and a 7-speed Direct-Shift Gearbox (DSG) (for the 1.5 litre engine).

Even in Nepal, the SUV will be available at a competitive price.
