NIU has been one of the most popular choices when it comes to electric scooters in Nepal. While EVs haven’t yet peaked and this might change this year with the new EV taxation norms for the fiscal year 2078/79. That’s not the case with the NIU Gova 03 which is priced at NRs.2,55,000. Eco Infinity, the authorized distributor for NIU electric scooters in Nepal has announced the NIU Gova 03 aka the Gova G3 electric scooter in Nepal and is now available for pre-order. This is what the new e-scooter from NIU has on offer.
Design:
The design of the scooter is a major change from the earlier models we had available, with a rectangular LED headlamp. Everything else about the scooter screams NIU, as the bodywork does share the NIU DNA but it’s a little curvier. The front gets an H-shaped matrix with LED DRL and LED side indicators. The minimalist NIU design that we’ve grown to love, is what you get with the NIU Gova 03 as well.
To the rear, we have a wrap-around LED lamp with a fairly sized grab bar. There’s ample storage underneath the seat. The fully digital instrument cluster displays the speed, battery level, and other necessary indicators. USB charging port, front bag hook, and front box are present and accounted for.
Performance:
The NIU Gova 03 gets a 18650 lithium-ion battery cell (48V) which gives it a range of 70kms once it’s fully charged. The speed maxes out at 60kmph and a max power of 2000 watts. There are two riding modes: a Dynamic S-Sport (for max. power) and a T-Tour Mode (for extended range). With the provided charger, the NIU Gova 03 takes 5 hours to charge up.
Rest of the Specs:
The rest of the specs includes regenerative EBS (Electronic Braking System) for the front and the rear discs which convert the braking energy into charge. For the suspension setup, the NIU Gova 03 gets a twin hydraulic telescopic fork to the front and a spring-air damping shock absorber to the rear.
