Toyota revealed their 5th gen Land Cruiser Prado with a similar design and shape to Lexus GX alongside its. This ensures Lexus GX has a rival base during the launch making it easier for people to differentiate between one another.
One of the most recognizable off-road vehicles in the world is the Toyota Land Cruiser, although its name has been discontinued in the North American market after 2021. Toyota is preparing to bring the SUV back to the United States, but with a small change, which is good news for enthusiasts and potential buyers of the Land Cruiser. Toyota is apparently delivering the new Land Cruiser Prado, the next generation of which is scheduled to arrive next year, in place of the fully-fledged Land Cruiser 300 series that debuted in 2021.
The Lexus GX, also known as the Toyota GX or Rekusasu GX in Japanese, is a mid-size luxury SUV that Lexus sells in North American and Eurasian markets. The Toyota Land Cruiser Prado, from which the GX derives its off-road prowess, serves as its base. In 2002, Lexus debuted the first generation, also known as the GX 470, which later became the third SUV to join the Lexus lineup.
Land Cruiser Prado
Toyota has recently released a teaser image of the upcoming fifth-generation Land Cruiser Prado, providing a glimpse into its design and features. It is worth noting that the new Land Cruiser Prado will share its underpinnings with the recently unveiled Lexus GX SUV, which suggests a shared platform and powertrain between the two vehicles.
The 40-Series Land Cruiser served as inspiration for Toyota’s teasers for the Land Cruiser Prado, which allude to the vehicle’s tough and capable personality. It implies that the 2025 model will stand apart from its GX cousin and the preceding 200-Series Land Cruiser by prioritizing off-road performance above opulent extras.
Toyota has not given a precise release date for the Land Cruiser Prado, but it is expected to be introduced later this year given the Lexus GX’s impending debut at the beginning of next year. Furthermore, Toyota has announced that the North American market would be the first to receive the latest generation of the Land Cruiser Prado. The car will be marketed in North America under the name “Land Cruiser” instead of the “Prado” suffix.
