Hyundai Kona Electric SUV Gets A Price Drop In Nepal

With the new budget plan for the fiscal year 2078/79 already in place, the taxation that the EVs were eligible for, has started to go down already. This is evident with the revised prices of the Hyundai Kona Electric and the Hyundai Ioniq EV. We’ll be focusing on the Hyundai Kona receiving a price cut of NRs.20 Lakhs and 23 Lakhs respectively off its initial pricing. This not only makes these EVs more affordable but also gives SUV buyers a reason to go Electric for their new purchase.

Hyundai Kona Electric Overview:

For starters, the Hyundai Kona shares the same DNA as its gas-powered counterpart and they look pretty much the same. The lines are well sculpted with stylish edges makes up for a confident stance and makes the Hyundai Kona stand out in front of its competitors.

As it is an EV that doesn’t require that big an air intake, the front grille is a closed one which is supposed to help with aerodynamics. Adding up to the matured look is a full-ED twin headlamp and sharp LED DRLS. To the sides, it resembles its SUV category with a muscular shape and defined lines going through the entire body.

To the back, we can see LED taillamps that blend perfectly with the wave-shaped design. To the inside, the cabin looks premium with high-quality materials and is quite spacious.

Performance:

You can choose between a 100kW motor drive coupled with a 39.2kWh battery for the regular range option or a 150kW motor with a 64kWh battery for the extended range option to drive the front wheels (all-wheel drive isn’t offered) and is powered by a 64.0-kWh battery pack. The Hyundai Kona gets a peak torque of 395Nm with Automatic transmission. Running the Hyundai Kona EV is a Permanent-Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) that makes 100kW (120PS) of power. 

The regular battery is rated to give you a 312Km range with the 36.2kWh battery and 482Km for the extended range option with a bigger 64kWh battery. The extended range option also gets a 15kW motor that makes 203PS of power.
