Hyundai Motor has announced the arrival of the Hyundai Ioniq 5, its latest electric SUV. According to the company, it’s a game-changing SUV, and it’s the first model they’ve ever built that’s entirely electric. The 2022 IONIQ 5 is sure to create waves with its unique, futuristic design, innovative, airy interior space, and ultra-fast charging. Laxmi International Pvt.Ltd., a Hyundai authorized distributor, is planning to launch the Hyundai Ioniq 5 in Nepal. Hyundai has been selling the Ioniq as an electric sedan in Nepal. The IONIQ 5 is based on a smart battery platform that can be customized for various powertrain configurations. So you can choose between a rear-wheel-drive option with a single 168kW motor producing 225 hp and a range of 300 miles and a front-wheel-drive option with a single 168kW motor producing 225 hp and a range of 300 miles. If you want more power, there’s HTRAC All Wheel Drive, which comes with 74kW and 165kW motors that produce 320 horsepower while maintaining a 269-mile range. Design
The Hyundai Ioniq 5 will be a new take on electric vehicles. It has a clean design that resembles a futuristic SUV. As a result, panel gaps are minimized, resulting in a clean, high-tech appearance. Signature Parametric Pixels lights adorn the front section. What are the extra features of this Hyundai Ioniq 5?
The Hyundai Ioniq is 4635mm x 1890mm x 160mm in dimensions. It has a ground clearance of 160mm. In addition, the kerb weight is 1830-1910 kg. Meanwhile, it will be available with futuristic alloy wheels in the 235/55 section. Furthermore, it also has a standard luggage capacity of 527 liters which can be increased to 1587 liters with the rear seats folded down.
Performance
A Permanent-Magnet Synchronous Motor powers the Hyundai Ioniq 5. It has a maximum power output of 170PS and a maximum torque output of 350Nm. Similarly, a 58kWh Lithium-Ion Polymer battery is included with the Ioniq 5. Furthermore, the battery can be fully charged in 5 hours using the onboard 10.5kW charger. In terms of range, Hyundai claims a 386-kilometer average range per charge. Hyundai’s Electric-Global Modular Platform will be used for the first time in the Ioniq 5. (E-GMP). It’s a completely new platform than the Hyundai Kona and Hyundai Ioniq. Additionally, it enables faster charging, a longer driving range, a more spacious interior, and improved handling.

The Hyundai Ioniq is expected to have a starting price of 80 lakhs. Meanwhile, there has been no word on the price or models that will be available in Nepal. However, Hyundai Nepal plans to release the Hyundai Ioniq 5 in early 2022.
